All a great success!
Largely due to the charming, very helpful and attentive crew. Ergün manages his team with a light hand, everyone knows exactly what they have to do, and fill in for each other, apparently spontaneously, and they all get on so well with each other and their passengers. Nothing is too much trouble: in fact they anticipate one’s every need, and do everything they can to look after their passengers. They make things work apparently effortlessly, but one knows what a hell of a lot of planning and hard work is required to look after, and cater for 12 people for a week, and it was so appreciated. They all enjoyed playing with Theo, our grandson, age 4, which was fun.
They were all smartly turned out in the chic Scic uniform, clean and shaven: quite a feat for the passengers, let alone the crew in much tighter quarters.
We were continually amazed by the haute cuisine produced from the tiny hot galley by Ugur. When I read your menus, I thought: « Oh yes, standard turkish food, nothing to write home about ». But Ugur constantly produced unusual and delicious, breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and even baked cakes for tea! Very classy. And every evening, they produced a few mezes to accompany a drink on the foredeck. They didn’t think we drank enough! When the ginger ale ran out (very quickly, as that was everyone’s favourite), Ergün managed to find some to replenish stocks in Fethiye supermarket.
The table was always beautifully laid, as if in a posh restaurant. Every meal was an occasion. Mehmet’s service at meals was very solicitous and top class, - even though his role was actually as a member of the crew.
Ergün found some beautiful bays for swimming: he cleverly set out from the rather beastly mooring in Fethiye early to have breakfast, and a before-breakfast swim in a beautiful bay round the corner.
